Learning Outside offers hands-on, inquiry-based, outdoor learning programs for children ages 3 – 14 years old. Programs are sited on Triangle Land Conservancy’s Irvin Nature Preserve; 269 acres of pasture, forest and wetlands. Irvin Leaning Farm’s programs are led by experienced, knowledgeable naturalists, educators and artists. Learning Outside’s programs provide children with experiences in nature that enhance their current lives and learning and that instill in them a love of the natural world and a lifelong commitment to stewardship. Our approach integrates the arts, sciences and humanities, all with outdoor learning. We emphasize community-building and a culture that values interpersonal relationships. Key to our mission is serving individuals who do not have ready access to quality outdoor learning experiences.
