We are an agricultural, education and environmental nonprofit located on beautiful Genesis Farm in Chapel Hill dedicated to small-scale agricultural training and wildlife conservation. We have a strong volunteer and intern program in Ag education for adolescent girls, teens and adults. In addition to small-scale farming, our primary goal is establishing and preserving the land for native pollinators by focusing on pollinator host plants and encouraging beneficial insects for our vegetable plants. We strive for a balance between domesticated animals and native wildlife. Farm work never ends, and there are many jobs to do from general farm maintenance to work in the gardens and barnyard to cleaning out sheds (good for two or more students). It is hard work but it will get you in shape and make you strong. Being outdoors works wonders for the spirit. ~ There is also a need for someone skilled in web design and maintenance. If you are a student looking to earn service hours in a way that can be fun and meaningful, consider joining us on the farm. Typically, we work during afternoons Monday-Friday (and many Saturdays), and we work all year. You may start any time. Come, get your knees dirty! Send us an email with LETSERVE in the subject line. Please no phone calls.
