Hearts and Hands Food Pantry exists because we believe food is a basic human right. Every single person regardless of circumstances, age, ethnicity, and beliefs needs nutritious food daily. We minister to the body and spirit of those in need. This belief in our hearts guides us in our strong commitment to combating food insecurity, expanding food access and creating food equity. Hearts and Hands Food Pantry is one of the only fully independent food pantries in all of North Carolina, allowing our services to be full choice, easily accessible and low-barrier, so that anyone can get the help they need, for as long as they need. We have proudly served the greater Charlotte, NC metro area since 2017. We provide shelf-stable and perishable (think fruits, veggies, milk etc.) groceries, personal care supplies, baby needs including diapers and formula, pet supplies and more. Our curbside pickup serves anyone in need who can get to our facility. Our delivery service is for those that qualify within Mecklenburg County. We are proud to be one of the only fully independent food pantries in all of North Carolina, allowing our services to be easily accessible and low-barrier, no referrals required. As a 100% volunteer food pantry, we are currently the only pantry in Mecklenburg County that provides our clients with full choice to select the items that they need and want through our custom appointment system on our website. We chose to give those experiencing a crisis the same dignity that we enjoy when we shop for ourselves, rather than just handing them a box of pre-selected items that most often do not allow for unique preferences, diets and health requirements. The more than 4500 families that we serve and especially the children in these families are the heart of why we serve.
