We are Layers of Dignity, a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Raleigh that provides tote bags full of clean new clothing, resources, and support letters to survivors of sexual assault being seen in emergency rooms and women's advocacy centers across NC. During post-crisis examinations, clothing items are taken in as evidence, and survivors are often given paper clothing from the center they are being seen at. Our tote bags are instead provided by the center's staff, and help to show survivors we are supporting them from the beginning, and working to restore dignity that was lost following the traumatic event.
