The Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary
Description

Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary (BSAS) is a wonderful nonprofit, a (501(c)(3)), farm animal sanctuary based in Rougemont, NC. BSAS is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff that cares for over 100 rescued large farm animals that reside on 41 acres. Blind Spot serves nearly all NC counties and is a strong partner to HSUS and countless Gov. run animal shelters. Our organization focuses on those animals that often get overlooked due to species, age, color or disability. Blind Spot rescues all type of farm animals such as horses, donkeys, potbellies, farm pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas, emus, chickens, ducks, and peacocks. Most of the animals we rescue come to us saved from slaughter; while others come to us from shelters, found as stray and several came to us as retired research animals. Almost all animals arrive sick, starved, and some near death. At Blind Spot these animals receive lifesaving veterinary care along with spay/neuter, routine vaccinations, hoof/tusk trims, deworming and microchips. Every specie has its own veterinarian, and we spare no expense to provide our animals with quality veterinary care, custom built heated housing, secure fencing, large pastures and enclosures, daily individually prepared meals as well as enrichment.
