B3 Coffee is a non-profit that serves as a platform of positive visibility and community connection for people of all abilities. One cup at a time, we aim to dismantle stigma surrounding disability and other forms of diversity to ultimately influence social change toward a more inclusive and equitable world. B3 was co-founded by Jacklyn Googins, UNC HDFS and recent UNC MSOT graduate, Greg Boheler, recent UNC MSOT grad, and Hannah Steen, UNC SLP student. Currently, B3 Coffee operates as a pop-up coffee shop and online community. We plan to open a permanent location at the Chapel Hill Public Library in 2022. B3 Coffee adheres to a “no hierarchy” model between people with and without disabilities, meaning that people with disabilities hold leadership roles in all aspects of the organization. We believe in doing with, not for the disability community in order to cultivate true empowerment.
