AGBU Camp Nubar

Description

AGBU Camp Nubar is an overnight camp located in the majestic Catskill Mountains of New York State, just 2 ½ hours from Manhattan. Nestled in 365 acres of forestland, with our own private, spring-fed lake. Campers are encouraged to acquire new skills, learn about themselves and foster lifelong bonds of friendship. We welcome hundreds of campers, ages 8-15, from all over the world to join in the excitement each summer where days are surrounded by nature and filled with laughter. At Camp Nubar, summers last a lifetime.

Volunteer Activities

Camp Nubar offers a wide range of daily activities for our campers all under the capable supervision and instruction of our staff. At Camp, each camper creates a personalized daily schedule of activities based on his/her interest. Campers also enjoy General Swim, a camp-wide activity each day giving them access to lake activities all together. Our daily schedule also incorporates an Elective Period where campers are free to explore other group activities and complete specific projects. Evenings and weekends are time for special Camp Nubar traditions like campfires, skit nights, counselor hunts, dances and carnivals. We also plan camp-wide competitions and special day events such as banquets, overnight camp outs, candlelight and, everyone’s favorite, Color War. Some of the daily activities offered include: Archery, Armenian, Arts & Crafts, Boating, Camp Craft, Ceramics, Fishing, Fitness, Music & Performing Arts, Photo, Sports, Swimming, Tennis, and Waterskiing.
