GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Bring your volunteer group out to the ReStore! Volunteer groups typically help unload donated household items, organize and clean donations, place items on the sales floor, maintain the cleanliness & organization of the store, and assist customers with carry-outs after purchase. Groups typically schedule 3-4 hour shifts between the hours of 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Mondays-Saturdays.
CONCIERGE VOLUNTEER
Join our dynamic, energetic team to help keep the ReStore running smoothly! The Habitat Cabarrus ReStore is looking for a friendly and outgoing volunteer to provide excellent customer service to all our donors and customers. The Concierge Volunteer will work with the managers, staff and other volunteers to welcome customers, provide current sale information, assist cashiers with sold items, help guide customers through store and more!
TRAINING NEEDED: on-site training is provided
TIME COMMITMENT: one 3-4 hour shift per week (Monday – Saturday)
Requirements for the ReStore Concierge are as follows:
-self-sufficient, requiring little supervision
-ability to stand for long periods of time
-ability to bend, squat, and lift at least 20 pounds
-great customer service toward donors and ReStore customers
-knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of Habitat Cabarrus ReStore
-ability to work closely with staff, donors, volunteers, Habitat homeowners, and customers
SALES FLOOR VOLUNTEER
Join our dynamic, energetic team to help keep the ReStore running smoothly! Work with the managers, staff and other volunteers to manage one or more sections of the store, keep donations moving through our stock room, and get donated items priced and ready to hit the floor. You can also help keep store sections stocked and tidy, or assist with customer service by serving as a resource to shoppers on the sales floor.
TRAINING NEEDED: volunteer orientation, on-site training
TIME COMMITMENT: as little or as often as you like
SHIFTS: Monday – Saturday, morning and afternoon (times are flexible)
DONATIONS DOCK VOLUNTEER
This position will include accepting donations directly from drop-off donors with an emphasis on what we accept and do not accept. Volunteers in this position would be responsible for maintaining a good relationship with both frequent and first-time donors. Staff will assist the volunteer in learning what comprises a “good” donation, and ample training will be provided.

SHIFTS: Monday – Saturday, morning and afternoon (times are flexible)
Requirements for the Donations Dock Volunteer are as follows:
Knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of Habitat Cabarrus
Great customer service toward donors and ReStore customers
Ability to work closely with staff, donors, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and customers
Ability to operate independently, requiring little supervision
Ability to exercise good judgement, and make decisions based on parameters given
Ability to carry items downstairs
After a 3-4 week “trial” period, a long-term commitment is needed
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance 50 lbs by yourself
Ability to regularly stand, squat, bend, climb stairs, and climb in and out of cab and box truck during a shift
Ability to work outside in all types of weather, including heat, cold and rain
