The mission of the UNC Malawi Surgical Initiative (MSI) is to improve surgical care through clinical service, surgical research, and training of Malawian medical school graduates to be surgeons in a COSECSA approved General Surgery Residency Program based at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH), Lilongwe, Malawi. Using a framework of education and training, scientific investigation, and clinical service we will support our program graduates through lifelong careers of providing surgical care in Malawi.
