NatureWay 2019
Description
NatureWay is a free day camp for elementary school children co-led by the Student Environmental Education Coalition, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. NatureWay aims to stimulate interest in STEM fields through unique and engaging lessons/activities, especially in the context of the natural environment. We integrate academic lessons with safe hands-on activities and invite accomplished guest speakers to educate and empower the leaders of tomorrow.
Volunteer Activities
Prior to camp week(s) itself, volunteers for NatureWay will be engaged in planning, creating, preparing, and rehearsing presentations and hands-on activities for various environment-focused lesson topics for a class of over 20 kids. During the full-day camp week(s), these counselors will not only teach their own prepared lessons, but also supervise and assist other counselors with their lessons, and participate in games and activities with the kids.
